Francis Coppola Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 -- The Label To commemorate the special nature of these wines, our bottles feature a distinct label design. Six different playful configurations of letters, which comprise the Coppola name, were created by, literally, tossing 3-dimensional pieces of type into the air and capturing them in flight. Each is a one-of-a-kind expression as prized as the wine in the bottle. Sam’s Vineyard Alexander Valley is comprised of varied terrain, from mountains that are exposed to full and abundant sunlight, to the valley floor in the south, which is cooler and highly influenced by maritime weather conditions. Alluvial soils run the length of the valley, and many vineyards are punctuated by sedimentary stones, which retain heat and transfer warmth to the vines even when the sun cannot. Additionally, the fruit from this diverse appellation typically demonstrates great concentration and flavor. Sam’s Vineyard is situated in the eastern hillsides of the appellation on an extremely steep mountain-vineyard composed . . .

Francis Coppola Reserve 2007 Russian River Pinot Noir hails from Coffey Vineyard, a small parcel of land situated just off the river. Its well-drained sandy clay loam soils create an ideal environment for Clone 37 Pinot Noir, and contribute greatly to the specific flavors and aromas that can be attributed to this vineyard. Available exclusively through Francis Ford Coppola Winery and our online store, our Pinot Noir offers an intense perfume of rose petals and dried strawberries along with generous flavors of crushed raspberries, black cherries, cola and fragrant spices. Although extremely inviting now, this wine will develop further with a few years in the cellar. Serve with seasoned pork tenderloin, roast beef with wild mushrooms, or fettuccine with Italian sausage and cream sauce.

Francis Coppola Reserve Petite Sirah Dessert Wine 2006 -- 100% Ruby's Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley! The Varietal Petite Sirah is a powerhouse red grape that makes dark, inky wines that are peppery, heavy on the tannin and chock full of delicious blackberry flavors. Because of its heady nature, this varietal is ideal for producing a Port-style wine, which is produced by stopping fermentation while there is still sugar left in the wine and then adding grape brandy to the tank. The resulting wine becomes higher in alcohol, as you may well imagine, and well suited for aging. Ports made from Petite Sirah typically offer juicy flavors of baked blackberry pie, sugared plums and sweet black cherries as well as notes of dark chocolate and seasoned wood. Mounts Vineyard Located on the western benchlands of northern Dry Creek Valley, Mounts Vineyard xperiences cool, foggy mornings and rather hot days. Because there is a substantial difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, the growing season lasts longer, so the grapes mature more slowly. This, along with a high level of organic material in the alluvial silt and clay loam soils, accentuates the jammy, dark fruit flavors of Syrah.
